How to check how old a Gmail account is

Can you see when a Gmail account was created?
Google doesn't show the creation date of a Gmail account to anyone else. What this checker finds is the earliest date the address can be found in use online. The account was created on or before that date, so it is the closest thing to a creation date you can get without being the account owner.
If it is your own account, the date of the oldest email in your inbox is another good clue.
Is a Gmail address the same age as its Google account?
Yes. A Gmail address is the Google account's address, so the age of one is the age of the other. Checking the Gmail address is how you check the Google account's age.
Why the age of a Gmail address matters
A new Gmail address takes a minute to make and costs nothing, which is why scammers use them in bulk and throw them away once they are reported. An address that is a few days old and asking you to pay, ship or click deserves a closer look. An address that goes back ten years belongs to someone who has been using it for ten years, and that is much harder to fake.
Age is one signal. A young address is not proof of fraud: people open new accounts for ordinary reasons. It is the starting point, and the full report adds the other checks.
